Your child is being asked to be a part of our school's California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education (CDE). This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. It provides the district with a comprehensive, data-driven, decision-making process to guide efforts to improve school climate, learning supports, and engagement, as well as identify and increase the quality of health, prevention, and youth development programs.
This survey is voluntary and anonymous meaning no names are recorded or attached to the survey forms or data. The results will be made available for analysis only under strict confidentiality controls.
Parents/guardians of 5th grade students should have already allowed or declined this survey during the Aeries Parent Data Confirmation process (if you have not completed this portion, an opt in/out notice was sent out via Parent Square). Parents/guardians of 7th grade students that do not want their child to take the survey will need to opt out. More details will be provided by your school site.
