Hello Families!

As we do every year, Pioneer will host its Halloween parade on October 31st. Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes, and families are welcome to watch the fun and frolic. Below is some critical information regarding participation:

The parade will begin promptly at 8:45 am on October 31st. **If students arrive after 8:45 am, they risk not being able to join the parade. Please be on time.**

Halloween is an adjusted day for all of TK/K so they can all join the fun! Please follow the Wednesday early release schedule (start time is 8:25 am).

Families will be welcome to enter the school from the fire exits off of Amber Lane and the Kinder Loop to watch the parade from the family viewing area on the blacktop (see map). Parents/families will not be permitted on campus except for the indicated blacktop area.

Please send your student to school in their costume. There will not be an opportunity to change clothes before the parade. They are welcome to bring a change of clothes for after the festivities.

If you are volunteering in any capacity, you must be pre-approved by your child’s teacher and have your ID scanned by the office before 10/31. Volunteers not listed on the approved list will NOT be permitted to enter classrooms. Volunteers are welcome to check in at the office AFTER the parade is complete, and the blacktop has been cleared.

If your family chooses not to participate in the parade, we will have an established area for your student to enjoy non-Halloween-related activities. Your child will return to class when the parade is complete to finish out their regular school day. If you choose to keep your child home, please call the attendance line at 925-513-6411 to report the absence.

Costume Parameters:
-No blood or excessive gore.

-No weapons of any kind. This includes swords, reapers, knives, guns, etc.

-Masks can be worn for the parade ONLY.

-The Pioneer dress code applies to costumes. Please refer to the student handbook for the complete dress code policy.

-Pioneer is not responsible for any lost items. Please send costumes and accessories with caution.

If you have any questions, feel free to contact the office. Thank you!

Congratulations to our Pioneer Elementary Newspaper Team!

We are so proud of the 18 incredible Pioneer Elementary students who took the lead in launching and running our very own school newspaper this year!

Your creativity, teamwork, and leadership have given our school a new voice and a platform to celebrate student stories, ideas, and achievements. Starting something brand new takes vision and courage, and you have shown both in abundance.

Thank you for blazing the trail and leaving a legacy that will inspire future Pioneers for years to come.

Way to go, student journalists—you’ve made history here at Pioneer Elementary!
