Leadership Banner

At Loma Vista, every student is a leader.

Our House System is a leadership model that helps students build character, strengthen relationships, and discover ways they can make a difference in our school community. Beginning in Transitional Kindergarten, every student belongs to a House where they learn what it means to serve others, celebrate one another, and lead with kindness.

As students grow, so do their leadership opportunities. Through House activities, school-wide celebrations, and service projects, students learn that leadership isn't about a title, it's about making our school a better place for everyone.

The House Leadership Journey

Leadership at Loma Vista is a journey. Each grade level highlights one House value, Kindness, Courage, Giving, or Dreaming, while building confidence, character, and service. By fourth grade, students are ready to join a House, continue growing as leaders, and leave their mark on Loma Vista.

House of Kindness

TK and K

Our youngest Leopards begin by learning that kindness builds community. Students practice including others, using caring words, helping friends, and creating a welcoming classroom where everyone belongs

House Of Courage

1st Grade

Students learn that courage means trying new things, persevering through challenges, and doing the right thing, even when it's difficult. They discover that mistakes help us grow.

House of Dreamers

2nd Grade

Students are encouraged to think creatively, set goals, solve problems, and imagine ways they can make their school and community even better. Dreamers inspire positive change.

House Of Givers

3rd Grade

Students learn that leadership begins with serving others. Through acts of generosity, teamwork, and responsibility, they discover that even small actions can make a big difference.

The House chooses you!

Fourth grade marks an exciting milestone as students officially become members of one of Loma Vista's four Houses. During our annual House Choosing Celebration, each student joins the House that will become their leadership family through fifth grade.

From that day forward, students build friendships across grade levels, develop leadership skills, lead service projects, and proudly represent their House throughout the school community.

By the time they leave for middle school, they leave behind a legacy of leadership, service, and belonging.

Leadership In Action

House Rallies

Each month, the entire school gathers to celebrate accomplishments, recognize students living the Leopard Way, review our Essential 15 life skills, and build school spirit together.

House Meetings

Following each rally, our fourth and fifth grade House members meet with their House leaders to build leadership skills, plan service opportunities, and prepare activities that support our entire school community.

Service and Leadership

Throughout the year, Houses take the lead in school-wide projects such as welcoming new families, organizing community service events, leading celebrations, and creating opportunities that make Loma Vista an even better place to learn.
