Teaching the skills that help every Leopard thrive.

At Loma Vista, academic learning and social growth go hand in hand. Peaceful Paws is our schoolwide approach to helping students develop the skills they need to build friendships, solve problems, make responsible choices, and contribute to a positive school community.

Rather than waiting for challenges to happen, we intentionally teach, model, and practice these life skills every day.

How Students Practice These Skills

Schoolwide Skill Focus

Throughout the year, students participate in schoolwide skill focuses that are reinforced in classrooms, during recess, and across campus.

Morning Kindness Challenge

Students arriving before school can participate in the Morning Kindness Challenge in the Peaceful Paws area. These short activities help students start the day with a positive mindset while practicing the weekly skill.

Learning Through Play

During recess, staff intentionally reinforce the same skills students learn throughout the week. Structured games, positive coaching, and guided conversations help students practice solving real-world problems with peers.

Everyday Coaching

Every adult on campus shares a common language for helping students reflect, repair relationships, and make positive choices. Instead of simply correcting behavior, we help students learn from each experience.

Connected to the Leopard Way

Peaceful Paws is one way we bring the Leopard Way to life every day.

  • Respect: Use kind words and listen to others

  • Responsible: Take ownership of your choices

  • Resilient: Keep trying when things are difficult

  • Kind: Include others and Show Compassion
