Edna Hill Middle School is proud to announce we are starting a new club on campus. For this year since we are new, only 7th graders can apply. CJSF stands for
California Junior Scholarship Federation
. Think of it as an honor society or a special club for 7th and 8th grade students in California who get good grades and help out in their community.
Here is the breakdown in simple terms:
· What it is: A group that recognizes students who work hard in school (scholarship) and help others (service).
· What you do: You have to apply every semester based on your report card (usually, you need mostly A’s and some B’s in core classes) - for us that means you have to qualify for both quarters that make up each semester.
· Requirements: Besides good grades, you often need to do volunteer work or community service (like tutoring, cleaning up campus, or helping at food drives).
· Benefits: It helps prepare you for high school, looks good for your future, and if you do it long enough, you get special pins or ribbons to wear at your 8th-grade promotion.
· 6th Graders: 6th graders cannot join yet; it starts in 7th grade.
In short: Get good grades, do community service, apply for the club, and get rewarded for being a great student.
If you think this sounds like you, click on the link below to apply. You will need to have access to your Quarter 1 (September) and Q2 (December) report cards. If you have the points you need, Mrs. Hulstrom will send you an invite to the CJSF Canvas page.
