The Brentwood Elementary English Language Advisory Committee (ELAC) is comprised of staff, parents, and community members whose students' home language is other than English. The committee advises and assists in the planning, implementing, and evaluating the school's English Learner (EL) program.
Committee Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the ELAC committee include:
Review and advise on school-wide needs assessment
Develop a master plan for English learner education
Advise the principal and staff on the development of the whole school plan with emphasis on English learner needs. Provide feedback on improving regular school attendance.
Bring concerns, questions, and interests for discussion and support.
Attend all ELAC meetings
